Ante Kovac is an award winning director and writer sharing his time between London and Toronto. He began his career directing music videos shortly after graduating from Ryerson University. His videos have been featured internationally on MTV, MuchMusic, Pitchfork and featured on several DVD compilations. Ante’s video for Matthew Good’s ‘Weapon’ won him a Juno Award for Best Director.
More recently, Ante has moved into the world of commercials, where he has worked with such high profile clients as Honda, Dove, KFC, American apparel, Alberta Bank, 3M, Sylvania, Scotties and Freederm. His latest content film for BGON has been nominated for two awards at the ‘Oneshow’ 2019.
A passion for narrative film has led Ante towards features, with two properties in active development including ‘The Night I Died’, an adaptation of a Cornell Woolrich (Hitchcock’s Rear Window) short story for Michael Douglas’ Furthur Films.
Ante’s work has been described as highly cinematic with an acute eye for detail and a natural ease in directing talent.
